Oh, Christmas Tree. Oh, Christmas Tree.

Taking down the Christmas Tree is the absolute worst.  It looks so lonely and bare without the tree.  And its a ton of work.  Physically, its a lot of work.  We have a fake tree. Fun Fact:: I didn't know that real trees were a rich people thing until a couple of years ago.  I had no idea that was a quiet luxury.  But we have a faux tree and it is probably 6' tall and comes apart in 3 sections and I store it and pack it away in the garage until next season.  That part is not the bad part, the bad part is taking off all 600 strands of lights and all their remote control plugs and keeping everything together and not in a big knot.  Then I like to add a bit of rizz and go ahead and take down the Christmas village too.  I crawled under the piano and there were THREE long ugly surge protectors power strips monstrosity, all different colors powering that little town.  That is my favorite part of taking the village down, not having all those ugly cords and bulky plugs. But also when I cut the electricity to Christmas village my electric bill goes way down and I love that too.  I love these power strips because they're discreet and flat and they come in normal colors- black or white.  No more long green extension cord surge protectors tangled up with a battered yellow one tackeying up your living room.  These are sleek and cute! https://amzn.to/3PLIizy Storage is the key to Christmas take down and I beg you to get proper ornament storage, it is a game changer.  It is so much more aesthetically pleasing but also, your precious ornaments are safer than the cardboard box you keep relabeling every year.  This cute ornament is the Don Cesar Hotel in Florida.  We bought it there over the summer and then in the fall a lot of that area got destroyed so I was glad we had this to remember what it was like when we were there.  If you still have your Christmas Tree up, take it down today.  It's time to decorate for Valentines Day!
