This Is A Kids Ideal Vacation...From A Kid
I love to travel now that I'm older. I never really went anywhere as a kid except Lima Oh to visit my aunt Shirley and a yearly Cedar Point visit, but we didn't really travel a lot. I'm sure partly due to finances but also because my moms mom didn't do a lot of vacations. It seems generational. If your parent prioritized travel and self care, you probably do too. If you're parents could barely afford the yearly Cedar Point trip, you can probably relate too. You are either one of those. My family did not put travel and self care first but my husbands did. He grew up doing all kinds of fun road trips and yearly visits to Disneyworld and the beach. When we started dating I thought it was super self serving and there were so many other things he could have done with that money. But now? I'm like 'when's are next trip boo?" It's my favorite! I never traveled with my kids when they were younger. I was a young mom and not only did not have the money to take 3 kids on vacations, but I also did not have the patience and wherewithal to arrange a trip. I read this article today about if kids could choose their ideal vacation, what would it be and this is what they found. Children want zoos with every animal, slides from rooms to pools and eating a lot of ice cream! Additionally kids said they wanted magic-themed theme parks, beaches with lots of sea creatures and visits to museums featuring favorite fictional characters. I thought it was interesting that 98% of parents include their kids in vacation planning and the majority of them said it actually does enhance the vacation experience for everyone. Life's a beach, let's visit often! Here is a link to the Indianapolis Childrens Museum because an Indy trip isn't that far, but the museum there is world class and could make for a fun end of summer jaunt! https://www.childrensmuseum.org/
