The relationship between the parents and teachers is a delicate balance. You both see 2 different versions of your child. Sometimes they line up and some times they do not. Communication is definitely the key. I prefer email and I know that's an unpopular opinion but I feel like I come across aggressive more in my in person speaking than when I have an email conversation. I wish I had done a lot of things differently when my kids were in school in regards to how active I had been in their education and also in their social lives and especially with the teachers. I never realized the value in it for the kids until I started seeing more and more kids go through high school with my husband teacher. I get it now for sure. I see the value. It keeps you involved but also it shows your child that you care.
